Why do I move?
Yoga is my way back to myself. A space where movement becomes storytelling, grounding, and medicine.
I can’t think of a moment in my life when I haven’t been involved in some form of art or movement. Since I was a kid, I was dancing (I even had a specific outfit for dancing, and if I wasn’t wearing it, I couldn’t dance to the song ). Then I met my first love, rhythmic gymnastics, and movement became my life. If you’re curious, I share more about this chapter in my “What’s in My Mind” page.
I discovered dance in all its forms and styles, and I decided to study Physical Education. Through that journey, I was able to learn and practise different sports, and that’s how I was introduced to swimming.
Even though I didn’t move as much in my mid-twenties, slowly, almost by accident, I found my way back. Although I don’t believe anything is an accident in life. I returned to dancing through flamenco, I found yoga thanks to a friend, and moving to Australia brought me back into teaching.
Maybe not the kind of teaching I imagined in my early twenties, but something deeply connected to who I am.
Yoga has become a way to connect with myself, to explore deeper storytelling (hello to all the myths behind each asana and their hidden meaning), and to share with you the kind of medicine you didn’t know you needed.
In their words.
“When I do a yoga class with Patricia I am taken on a journey of self - discovery. The poses are carefully sequenced & they are given context & purpose. Pat often tells a story that exemplifies a virtue, which deepens our understanding of the pose & explains its purpose. Pat brings variety & a feeling of growth to each class.”
“I absolutely adore classes with Patricia. Her legends told about Ganesha, Shiva and others are my favourite to listen while practicing gentle poses”
